Faculty Council
The faculty council is the highest decision-making body of the department and is composed of professors, employees as well as students. The faculty council’s meetings are open for everyone. Among the many topics debated and decided on are:
- study and exam regulations,
- setting priorities and coordinating research projects,
- appointing professors and assigning contracts to personnel,
- allocating funds.

Examination Board
The examination board is responsible for a number of tasks regarding the study and exam regulations of the degree programs, among which are:
- setting the exam period for test oral exams,
- organizing the exams and ensuring they are conducted in accordance with regulations,
- appointing the examiners and interlocutors,
- approving successive repeat exams and granting extensions to Bachelors and Masters theses,
- examining the calculation of study times as well as study performance and test achievement,
- deliberating appeals.

Examination Board StREaM
Student Body of Faculty
The student body of faculty (Fachschafsrat =FasRa) is the direct representation of students within the department and is wholly governed by students. The highest level or representation of this student body is the Studentenrat Studierendenrat (StuRa). Elections are held for each of these committees every year.
Those elected to these committees represent the interests of the students in the given departments and the university.
The FasRa is capable of:
- raising issues concerning professors,
- organizing guest lectures, student projects and parties,
- providing financial support,
- creating starter-packs for students.
